Warren claimed to be the first American war reporter to enter the liberated city of Paris on the 25th August 1944.

Awarded the European Campaign Ribbon with 6 stars and Arrowhead signifying his landing at Normandy Beach and a certificate of merit from Secretary of War Robert P Patterson.Warren also received the French Legion of Honour from President Auriol of France.

Warren died in Livingston.Essex County,New Jersey USA on the 8th March 1982
