SGT CHARLES SEIDERER

Sgt Charles Seiderer finally received his medals 35 years after he was wounded at Omaha Beach during WW2. The 74 year old was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his bravery and injuries. Charles earned his Bronze Star for evacuating soldiers wounded by enemy sniper fire during the invasion of Normandy. That winter during the Battle of the Bulge, Charles was struck with shrapnel in the leg earning him a Purple Heart. After the war ,he worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for 25 years.
