Known as “Chocho”, he served with the FAF from 1939-1940 in Chartres before escaping to Britain. He became a founder member of 310 Sqn in July 1940. and CO of “A” flight from 1/10/42. Replaced by Lt Hrbacek on 1/2/43 & then rested from Feb to June 1943. Became CO of “B” flight on 1/6/43 for his second tour. On 24/9/43, during Ramrod 87, his engine cut out while in combat with a MF110 20 miles from Brest. His plane crashed and Chocho was not seen to bale out before the aircraft struck the water.
