FL Officer Griffiths died on the 17th March 1944 during a ground controlled interception (GCI exercise)
Head on collision with P/O Reid and P/O Rich (navigator) both flying Mosquitoes.Aircraft made exhaustive searches without success and very reluctantly returned to base.
