Pre-war CZAF fighter pilot with Air Regiment 1. Came to Britain on 19/6/1940 after serving in the FAF. Posted to 310 Sqn in August 1940. Then posted to various units, 12 OTU, 4FPP & No 8 MU, with a six month period with 312 Sqn. In June 1942 he was posted to 310 Sqn as F/O becoming “B” flight CO on 27/2/43 succeeding
F Burda. Completed 2 tours by 11/8/44. He was the squadrons last CO from 15/9/44 onwards. Served with CZAF after 1945 but left his country in 1948 and returned to Britain and joined the RAF until 1957.He died on the 5/4/2006 in Portsmouth aged 88
