257 Squadron (Burma)


257 SQUADRON (Burma)
257 Squadron was stationed at RAF Exeter from the 21st Sept 1942 to 6th Jan 1943. Sqn Ldr G A Brown DFC took over the sqn on the 23/9/1942. The Squadron began using bombs in early 1944 against “ No Ball” targets— the V1 flying bomb sites. The crest shows the squadron’s motto in Burmese “ Thay myay gyee shin shwe hti “ which means Death or Glory.
